I’m a designer passionate about understanding the people and environments I design for. As a strong believer in “the power of yet and the tyranny of now,” I constantly strive for improvement. Like a bee, I’m always learning, collaborative in nature, and in motion, working with care and purpose to create meaningful experiences.
When I'm not designing, I love connecting with nature, discovering beautiful sunset spots, and watching wildlife and health-related documentaries.
Building a Designer Community that supports Hong Kong immigrants in Toronto
In 2022, I moved from Hong Kong to Canada in pursuit of more inclusive values and to start a new chapter.
While the journey hasn’t always been easy, being part of this community reminds me and others that we’re not alone. Since our first meetup in early 2023, the community has grown to 140 members.
As a co-host of our regular meetups, including workshops and picnics, I aim to create a safe space where participants, even those who are introverted, feel comfortable sharing their thoughts, feel heard, and feel included.
Shaping the SDN Next Gen Speaker Journey with a Service Design Mindset
After volunteering in 2024, I further stepped out of my comfort zone to co-lead a team of six for the 2025 SDN Next Gen Conference, designing the speaker experience from theme development and selection criteria to onboarding and day-of logistics.
Organising the event through service design principles reminded me that design is more than a title. It’s a mindset I carry into how I lead, collaborate, and solve problems across contexts.
I love adventures.
Through countless solo travels, I’ve become comfortable with uncertainty and learned to improvise when things don’t go as planned. (Some of these photos were captured with the help of my tripod buddy!)
The more I learn, the less I know. These adventures have also taught me to be humble and open-minded, while appreciating even the smallest things around me.
I was a problem-solver at 35,000 feet.
As a flight attendant, I developed strong skills in active listening, empathy, and teamwork to anticipate needs and solve problems in fast-changing environments. I deeply understand how frontline service and behind-the-scenes processes work together to shape the customer journey.
Today, I bring that mindset into design, using research and systems thinking to uncover root causes, improve both user flows and internal workflows, and create experiences that support both users and the teams behind the service.
